Peacefully
in his sleep at Hamilton General Hospital in his 96th year. Beloved
husband of 71 years to Myrtle and loving father to sons Pat and Ed. Dear
brother in law to Eileen Baker of Bracknell England. Predeceased by his
parents Edward and Alexandra and brother Michael. Pat was a veteran of
WWII and served his country overseas with The Hastings and Prince Edward
Regiment. Upon his return to Hamilton he entered into law enforcement
becoming the youngest man to govern The Barton Street Jail a position he
held from 1952 to 1975, and later as an active member of the Ontario
parole board. In later years he enjoyed attending mass at St. Lawrence
Catholic Church in the north end where he was raised. Will be missed by
friends Ted Gleason and Lil Brown, the staff at RBC and the girls at
Metro (University Plaza) where he would visit almost daily for a chat
and to pick up his newspapers. Special thanks to Donna Selkirk for her
continued friendship. Cremation has taken place with a remembrance of
life to take place at a later date.
